Remote Power Off Replacing the fuse

The remote fuse switch is used when it is required to shut off the engine without turning off the ignition switch.

It is used during various tests of the engine and its systems. For example, to measure dynamic compression in the engine cylinders it is necessary that after the engine is turned off, the throttle remains open until the engine stops completely. But, on many modern engines, as soon as the ignition switch is turned off, the throttle valve is automatically closed. In this case, to turn off the engine, instead of turning off the ignition, break the power supply circuit of the fuel injectors or the fuel pump. For this, a remote fuse switch is used.

To get the most complete results from the Px script, designed for automatic analysis of the cylinder pressure graph, it is better to turn off the engine at the end of the test not with the ignition switch, but with the remote fuse switch.

Also, the fuse switch can be used to block the possibility of starting the engine while cranking with the starter. This is necessary when measuring the relative compression in the engine cylinders as part of the ElPower test.
