DIS Adapter (Distributorless Ignition System Adapter) is intended for viewing the secondary ignition parade on the screen of an oscilloscope. DIS Adapter can be used on engines where the ignition coils with two high-voltage leads are used as well as on engines equipped with a distributor ignition system.
It works with all automotive oscilloscopes that are equipped with BNC connectors.
The sync probe allows you to determine the polarity of the signal correctly and display the synchronization pulse of cylinder number one.
The Ignition Adapter has a built-in high voltage pulse polarity detector. This is necessary for the correct connection and attachment of the high-voltage probes when diagnosing DIS ignition systems. When the engine is running, it is enough to alternately install the probe of the first cylinder on each of the high-voltage wires, while observing the color of the LED on the housing of the ignition diagnostic adapter, and install capacitive probes on the high-voltage wires in accordance with the color of the LED, then install the probe of the first cylinder on high-voltage wire of the first cylinder.
DIS adapter comes with 1.8m power supply cable and 0.3m BNC connection cables. Additionally you may need: DIS Cx 6 capacitive probes, Sync synchronization transducer, Cx-M universal capacitive probe, Lx-M inductive probe.
Attention!
The LED on the housing of the Ignition Adapter is used only to determine the polarity of the high voltage pulses and is not a power indicator. After connecting the adapter to a 12V power supply, the LED should briefly turn red and go out.
