DIS Cx 6 capacitive probes
DIS Cx 6 is a set of capacitive probes for diagnosing DIS ignition systems. It is designed for testing Distributorless Ignition Systems (DIS) on 4- and 6-cylinder engines, as well as conventional ignition systems with a distributor. The pickups allow accurate capture of secondary ignition voltage waveforms together with USB Autoscope IV or DIS Adapter. DIS Cx 6 enables fast and reliable diagnostics of ignition coils, wires, distributors, and spark plugs.
DIS Cx 6 capacitive probes are designed for testing of Distributorless Ignition Systems of 4/6 cylinder engines as well as ignition systems equipped with a distributor.
The DIS Cx 6 probes must be attached to the spark plug wires observing the spark polarity. The probe connectors must then be connected to the DIS adapter. The adapter is equipped with a built-in spark polarity detector. In order to determine the correct polarity have the engine running at idle and attach the synchronization probe to each spark plug wire one at a time.
Observe the color of the LED on the ignition diagnostic adapter. Attach the capacitive probes on the spark plug wires according to the LED color. If the red LED lights up, attach the red probes. If the green LED lights up, attach the green probes. Then attach the the first cylinder (synchronization) probe to the spark plug wire for cylinder number one.
The length of the DIS Cx 6 probe cable is 1.8 m.
Precautions before use:
Keep wires and adapters away from moving and rotating parts.
Keep wires and adapters away from the exhaust manifold.
